Location: South Wales

Employment Type: Part-Time, Permanent (approximately 20–30 hours per week, with flexibility)

About Stage Left Technologies

Stage Left Technologies designs and manufactures professional stage management and cueing equipment for theatres and live entertainment venues. We're a growing engineering business focused on producing high-quality products with exceptional customer service.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an Operations & Purchasing Manager to help shape the future of our business. This is an opportunity to join at an early stage and play a key role in building efficient operational systems that will support our long-term growth.

The Role

We're looking for an organised, proactive Operations & Purchasing Manager to oversee our warehouse, purchasing activities and day-to-day operations. You'll ensure materials are purchased cost-effectively, stock levels are maintained, and products move efficiently from suppliers through to production and ultimately to our customers.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be trusted to identify improvements, streamline processes, negotiate with suppliers and build systems that support the company's growth.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing day-to-day warehouse operations.

  • Purchasing components, materials and consumables.

  • Developing strong relationships with suppliers and negotiating pricing where appropriate.

  • Raising and managing purchase orders.

  • Monitoring supplier performance, delivery times and quality.

  • Receiving, storing and issuing stock accurately.

  • Maintaining inventory accuracy and coordinating regular stock counts.

  • Developing efficient warehouse layouts and storage systems.

  • Coordinating incoming deliveries and outgoing customer shipments.

  • Working closely with engineering to ensure materials are available for production.

  • Monitoring operational performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Creating and improving procedures that increase efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Managing health and safety within the warehouse.

  • Helping implement and improve our ERP and inventory systems.

What We're Looking For

You'll likely have experience in operations, purchasing, warehouse management or supply chain, and enjoy improving the way businesses work.

Ideally you'll have:

  • Previous experience in purchasing, warehouse or operations management.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Confidence communicating with suppliers and negotiating effectively.

  • Experience using ERP or inventory management systems (experience with Odoo would be an advantage).

  • Good understanding of stock control and supply chain management.

  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft 365.

  • A practical, hands-on approach to solving problems.

  • A continuous improvement mindset.

What Success Looks Like

In your first year you'll help us:

  • Build an efficient and organised warehouse.

  • Develop a reliable supplier network.

  • Improve purchasing processes and inventory accuracy.

  • Reduce stock shortages and excess inventory.

  • Support on-time manufacturing and customer deliveries.

  • Create scalable operational systems that grow with the business.

What We Offer

  • Flexible part-time working to suit both the business and the successful candidate.

  • The opportunity to shape a growing technology company from an early stage.

  • A varied role where your ideas will genuinely influence the business.

  • A friendly, supportive and collaborative working environment.

  • Opportunities for professional development as the company grows.

  • Competitive salary based on experience.

  • Company pension.

  • Generous holiday allowance.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to join a business at the beginning of an exciting journey. You'll have the freedom to improve processes, influence how the company operates, and grow alongside the business as it expands.

If you enjoy creating order, improving efficiency and taking ownership, we'd love to hear from you.
